Datasets from Cooperators
Efforts from cooperators have increased the access of available data to the National Fish Habitat Partnership. Additionally the transformation of select datasets has been conducted to link the data to the NFHP spatial framework, based on the NHDPlus V1 (1:100K). Providing these new data formats to the National Fish Habitat Partnership, partners, and stakeholders enables progress toward building consistent data nationally while reducing duplicative efforts.
Fish Habitat Partnership (FHP) Datasets
Data available by Fish Habitat Partnership include data generated through national assessment efforts and regionally-specific data provided through the efforts of the Fish Habitat Partnerships. This complementary approach allows regional partners to benefit from the national data compilation and preparation as well as additional data and information specific to the partnership region.
Select a Fish Habitat Partnership from the list on the right to see a list of data that is available for the selected partnership region. Note that the types of data on the list vary by partnership; an individual item may be a shapefile, .pdf, spreadsheet, database, etc. For more information on each item, click the "More Info" link to the right of each item.
Inland Assessment Data
Inland Habitat Condition Index (HCI) scores generated as the result of the 2010 National Assessment are available at multiple spatial scales for the conterminous United States. HCI scores (local, network, and cumulative) and disturbance variable data are available for each confluence to confluence reach of the National Hydrography Dataset [NHD] Plus Version 1. HCI scores are also summarized so that Ecological Drainage Units [EDU], Hydrologic Unit Code [HUC] 8, and HUC12 are attributed with a single HCI for each spatial unit. Inland streams in Hawaii and Alaska were assessed using different spatial frameworks than those in the conterminous United States. HCI scores and disturbance indices for Hawaii are attributed the National Hydrography Dataset (1:24k), while Alaska are attributed to HUC12s.
The inland assessment scores can be explored at all scales using the National Assessment Results Viewer or downloaded for additional use.
Coastal Assessment Data
Coastal Habitat Condition Index (HCI) scores generated as the result of the 2010 National Assessment are available for the entire coastline of the conterminous U.S. The dataset includes the four subcomponent habitat condition indices, the final cumulative disturbance index, and all of the variables used to generate the indices. The coastal assessment can be explored using the National Assessment Results Viewer or downloaded for additional use.
